Shannon had watched her mother die dozens of times. More, if she really stopped to think about it. This was no different.
As a child, she had even learned after the first few, humiliating episodes to hide her head under her jacket if there was screaming. There was often quite a lot of screaming. It was expected.

The curve of a wall clock tricked her eye as she paced, lending the bleak institutional architecture an elegance it did not possess. Even as she realized the illusion, she clung to it, enjoying the image of arched brick passageways far more than the redundant right-angles that flashed past again and again and again. Harsh fluorescent reflections on well-worn tiles, polished by feet heavier than her own, could be less foreboding if one imagined the heat of spotlights instead.

I think she is a very talented writer, has an awesome style and her writings are worth reading.

Earth cannot hold the despair of a goddess whose heart is storm and whose blood is water; a goddess whose breast is nephos and who sobs sonic bursts. It bids her to remain in her domain where the vast cosmos may drown her emotions in sunlight, forgotten by all but the stars; it bids her away, as not to crush the children of spirit and earth, fire and air. She came anyways, seeking the ever-replenishing bosom of the blue and green planet.
Shadows seeped across a sky crowned with sun-kissed clouds. Shafts of sunlight suffocated in the despair of her oncoming storm and the wind thrashed. The terra resisted her, stone arms rising as pillars against the darkness.  Water fled, rushing down stone stairs, roaring, charging, foaming. White spray crashed down and against the pool walls only to turn and weep down another rock face. Her cries shook stone plateaus and she wrung the serpentine wind for all it was worth and screamed to trees that bowed in terror.
Then she began to cr
There are a lot of very different pieces in her gallery so that almost everyone should be able to find something he or she likes.
Thank you not only for this wonderful picture of twenty-year-old Tarno which still is one of my all-time-favorites but also for all the feedback and your friendship.

Weary, worn out, broken -
This is what I appear like before my Lady.
There's a pile of unfinished crap behind me,
Sitting right there next to the one already completed.
I'm not satisfied with the end-result,
But I'm not complaining either.
Someone had to do it, why not yours truly.
I see roads.
So many roads…
Some I've already crossed before,
Once at the very least, a thousand times at the very most;
Some I've seen and chosen not to walk along;
Some are new to me; some are unclear, unseen.
They all, however, lie behind me.
Before me there is only one path,
A singular line, a rivulet merging all of the roads above.
And, as is the usual case with such tiny paths, this one leads to but one location.
This is where I'm headed,
Underdressed,
Messy,
Clueless of the destination
[And yet very aware of it].
Onward I trudge,
Calm, secure, collected, at ease,
With my Lady, my only companion.
